Mexico, The Caribbean and Central America is a huge talent market for Reckitt. Linda’s shaping our people strategy in this region for both our core organisation and our Mead Johnson business. “It’s a big step in my career. My interview gave me a great impression of the company. So I’m more than glad to be here, bringing more people on board.”
Although an experienced HR professional, it’s been quite a culture change for Linda. “People here are amazing, but you need to get into the train running, right? I’ve had to quickly absorb Reckitt’s history and adapt to its dynamic environment. That’s part of the deal.
One of her biggest learning curves has been managing Mead Johnson. “I’ve never worked in nutrition before. It’s a very sensitive product, so you need the right people in the right positions. That gives you a great purpose, but also a huge responsibility.”
Some essential skills are guiding Linda’s success so far. “You need to actively listen. Not just to senior leaders, but everyone else too. You also need to be creative and simplify the work. And what worked five years ago doesn’t work now. You’ve got to stay on top of new trends to create new career paths.”
Of the many reasons that Linda enjoys in her role, one stands out.
I especially love engaging people with the brands, culture and projects. Engaging with people is the key. It’s about involving everyone in the right way so we can achieve our goals together.
Linda loves to travel, but also coming home to her two cats. Her younger sister, older brother, and mum live close by and family is an important part of who she is. “I try to see them often, and I’ll be going to Japan with them to celebrate my birthday. I can’t wait.”
