Sarina Pathela’s travelled across continents, through career pivots, and now into leadership. “Since starting my career with Reckitt in Thailand, I’ve relocated to the UK, represented the business at the One World Summit and taken maternity leave. Twice. And I’ve been supported by the business through every chapter.”
Now, as Regulatory Operations Manager, Sarina ensures that our world-leading and innovative Durex products are safe, effective, and compliant with ever-evolving global regulations.
It’s a complex space, but I love the challenge. And I get to work with brilliant people around the world. They’ve helped me lead with kindness and stay true to who I am.
Sarina’s journey hasn’t followed a straight line. Relocating from Thailand to the UK was a major transition. “Although I’d studied in the UK, moving back for work was a big adjustment. The professional culture is very different. How people communicate, build relationships, and work together. But it was also a great opportunity to grow.”
That growth has touched every aspect of Sarina’s life, and now it’s influencing others. “I’ve learned to be myself and lead with empathy. I’ve developed a deep understanding of technical and regulatory challenges. And now I’ve learned how to flex my leadership style so I can support our diverse teams better and pass on my experience.”
Representing Reckitt at the One Young World summit in 2021 was a defining moment. “I’ve had incredible experiences. But this one was very special. It deepened my commitment to being an authentic leader and helped me understand that value of doing work that’s driven by a purpose.
What motivates Sarina now is a combination of tackling a complex role and managing inspiring people. “Every day brings new challenges and learning opportunities. I’m passionate about coaching and supporting others. That also includes my children. They’re my world. They remind me why kindness, care, and authenticity matter.”
