A holistic approach to global healthcare

Healthcare systems around the world are facing unprecedented strain. This is set to worsen with the impacts of climate change – now regarded as the single biggest threat to human health.

However, health systems also contribute to this pressure, accounting for over 5% of global net emissions.

We also know that good health and wellbeing begin not in hospitals and clinics, but in our homes, habits, and communities.

Early intervention

As pressures on our health and health systems grow, we are working with partners to reimagine healthcare, transitioning from a top-down, reactive model to a more holistic approach – one that emphasises prevention, early intervention, and keeping people well, for longer.

With 70% of the global population set to live in cities by 2050, urban centres can be a driving force to help achieve this.
