Chakri Aravapalli has learned a great deal in his current, multifaceted role in Hyderabad. But he’s had to unlearn a few things on his way here too. “Coming from an IT consulting background, I’m wired to solve problems quickly. But at Reckitt, it’s not simply about jumping straight to solutions. You have to think bigger.”
For Chakri, this means developing an ‘aerial’ view of everything, and being more engaged, informed, and connected. “Understanding our brands, their legacy, and how they reach consumers is essential to supporting the business.”
Chakri’s role is incredibly diverse, so he’s always evolving his skills. “As a site lead, I’m building a collaborative culture. As Regional CIO, I’m engaging with markets and GMs. At the same time, I’m making sure our global production platforms have the right tech and service levels. It’s a real mix, but there’s a shared purpose. It’s helped me to grow.”
Working as part of our Nutrition business means there’s a personal connection for Chakri. “My son was on our infant formula. That builds in my sense of pride and belonging. Seeing our products on shelves and knowing the science and ethics behind them makes me feel like a brand ambassador, even outside of work.”
Reckitt offers many opportunities for Chakri to engage beyond the day-to-day job, from CSR and sustainability initiatives to wellness and fitness events.
These help build connections and friendships that go beyond work. It encourages us to be part of a broader purpose. It’s about knowing your people and yourself better.
