SJ Hawkes wants to create workplaces where everyone can thrive. “I’m here to empower others and amplify their strengths. It’s clear to me that when people feel safe and supported, they bring the best part of themselves to work. That’s when leaders are developed and people and teams are transformed.”
SJ’s journey at Reckitt has spanned worldwide roles across our Health, Supply and R&D teams in Europe and Australia and New Zealand. “Right now, I’m leading HR across Emerging Markets. Essentially, what we’re doing here is shaping the future of Reckitt’s global workforce. And it’s been a journey of growth, learning, and embracing new challenges.”
As global head of Reckitt’s disability employee resource group (ERG), SJ’s impact goes even further. "I’m dyslexic, and this has inspired and shaped my commitment to inclusion. Reckitt has given me the space to be open about my own challenges, and use it to champion change in powerful ways.”
SJ’s commitment to inclusion is rooted in real life experience. “I grew up in a family with varied special needs. These things have shaped my values. I care deeply about equality and treating everyone with respect, no matter what their role, where they work or what makes them who they are.”
SJ has also learned the importance of wellbeing.
I used to put work first, but now I know I can’t support others unless I’m at my best. Reckitt gives me the support and space to be more impactful and powerful as a person, and to give back to the community. It’s been a journey of growth and learning. It still is.
