RB has been identified as a global leader for its actions to manage carbon and climate change across its supply chain, and has been awarded a position on the Supplier Engagement leader board by CDP, formerly known as the Carbon Disclosure Project, a leading global environmental disclosure platform.
Over 5,000 companies were assessed by CDP on their supply chain engagement strategies. RB is among only 3% of organizations to be awarded a position on the leader board, in recognition of its actions to reduce emissions and lower climate-related risks in the supply chain in the past reporting year.
“We’re delighted to be included within CDP’s supplier engagement leader board”, said Miguel Veiga-Pestana, RB’s SVP Global Corporate Affairs & Sustainability. “We know there’s much to do across all three of CDP’s focal areas of climate, water and deforestation both with our supply chain, and in our own operations. Forestry for example, is nature's carbon-sink and deforestation accounts for up to 15% of the world's greenhouse gas emissions, so we’re committed to advancing our work on palm oil and other issues where supplier collaboration is key.”
“Congratulations to RB for its recognition on the CDP Supplier Engagement Leader board, working to reduce emissions and lower climate-related risks across its supply chain, commented Sonya Bhonsle, Global Head of Supply Chain at CDP. “RB is using disclosure to push positive change down the supply chain and, if suppliers continue to cascade good practices, this has the potential to play a huge role in the rapid transition to a sustainable, low-carbon economy.”
