We believe access to high quality hygiene, health and nutrition is a universal right. Our ambition for 2030 is to enable a fairer society – as an employer, and throughout our value chain, and in the communities we’re active in.

As a company our collective commercial acumen, insights, and innovation expertise helped us to measurably impact the lives of 10 million people across the world. Our report elaborates on our mission and outlines our progress thus far.

Our Chief Executive Officer, Laxman Narasimhan, says:

We have a voice in billions of homes, and partnerships in communities all over the world. By bring people together and changing behaviours, we can build long-term, sustainable change.

And that’s how we did it: Together. With our global partners, we’ve invested in 50 countries across our three different focus areas. Our social impact investments in the past year have brought measurable change to people in the following ways:

  • 22.3 million people now have better access to water and sanitation.
  • 1.1 million new mothers now have access to better care.
  • 1.7 million youths have improved access to knowledge on sexual rights.

We’re proud to announce that we’ve invested an equivalent of £38.2m in 2021, resulting in four times as many people benefitting as compared to 2020. This means we’re four times ahead of our 2025 investment pledge – and are making significant progress in our pursuit of a cleaner, healthier world.
